Sympathy - Purple with Lavender

Soft monochromatic colors and curving lines for a simple sympathy card.

Butterfly - Teal and Aqua

Today's sympathy card started with the ombre striped card base.  Then I thought I'd use the leafy print instead.  But they looked good together, so I kept both.  I like the colors and patterns along with the leaf and butterfly shapes.

• Card stock is Neenah solar white, colored with Copic G000 marker (light aqua), and Papertrey Ink (PTI) tropical teal.
• Patterned paper is from PTI A2 ombre stripes collection (retired) and green tea leaves 8 x 8" pad (grande scale). 
• Dies are PTI life is beautiful (small layered butterfly - retired) and WPlus9 folk art florals (leaflet - retired).
• The sentiment "with deepest sympathy" is from PTI little labels (retired), stamped with PTI tropical teal ink.

Tree with Muted Teal and Silver

A quiet scene for today's sympathy card.  I'll call it monochromatic, in shades of muted greens and teal, with silver and gray as the neutral.  The stitching die adds texture to the card base and the shimmery silver panel.

• Patterned paper is from PTI ocean tides (muted teal) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired). 
• Die is from PTI noted: simply stitched A2 vertical. 
• The sentiment "with sympathy" and the tree are from PTI peaceful meadow, and the birds are from PTI through the trees (retired), stamped with PTI weathervane (gray), ocean tides, vintage jadeite (light green), and new leaf (medium green) inks.

Goldfinch with Black and White Dots

Strong contrast gives interest to this monochromatic card.

• Die is from PTI spring woods (retired).

Autumn Blessings Tree

A bright monochromatic card.  All the leaves are on one stamp, and I used two inks for some natural color variation, which shows up better in real life.  

I'll mail it later in the fall as an encouragement card for some of our church members.

• Dies is from PTI noted: simply stitched A2 vertical.

Brown and Aqua Print with Rickrack

A very simple layout with some aqua and bright turquoise.  The brown and aqua dotted print adds visual texture and grounds the aqua die cuts.  I'll call this one monochromatic, with brown as the neutral.

Butterfly on Light Blue

A light blue print with lacy blue die cuts - butterfly, edging, and script sentiment - for a simple sympathy card.

• Card stock is Stampin' Up soft sky (light blue) and Hero Arts cerulean layering paper (medium blue).
  
• Patterned paper is from PTI spring rain (light blue) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired).

Turquoise Print on Dark Navy

With such a dark navy for a neutral, I'll call this card monochromatic.  The bright white banner with a cursive sentiment makes a good focal point.  

I punched out the star from the diamond print (the hole is covered by the white banner), because my solid turquoise card stock colors didn't look right with the print.

Cream Oval with Gray and Rusty Red

To me, an oval shape brings a more formal look to a card design.  I continued a formal and elegant style with the gray with cream, the damask print, and the flowing script sentiment font.  The deep rusty red adds some bold brightness.  I like the dotted gray lines to ground the sentiment on the large oval label shape.

Kraft and Brown with Gingham

Neutral brown, kraft, and cream with some brighter, rusty red gingham.  I enjoy layering rectangles for a very simple card design.

Pink and White Circle - Love

A pink and white lacy circle with a heart and a "love" theme sentiment, for a note of encouragement to some of our church members.

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) lovely lady (medium pink), raspberry fizz (deep pink), and stamper's select white. 
• Embossing folder is Cuttlebug Swiss dots (retired).  I used the debossed side of the card stock.
  
• Dies are from PTI limitless layers: 1-3/4" circles (retired), heart-2-heart #3, and noted: simply stitched A2 vertical.
• The leafy patterns are from PTI tag-its #12 (retired), and the sentiment "sending love" is from Hero Arts many everyday messages, stamped with PTI lovely lady and raspberry fizz inks.

Lattice Squares - Aqua with Teal and Blue

The textured background makes a good setting for the stamped lattice squares.  A handsome monochromatic card.

Brown and Orange Triangles on Kraft

It's nearly monochromatic with brown, orange, and yellow, but still a lively card with printed and die cut triangle shapes.

• Card stock is Neenah desert storm (light kraft) and Papertrey Ink (PTI) dark chocolate (brown), canyon clay (orangey brown), and sun shimmer (yellow). 
• Patterned paper is from Pink & Main pumpkin spice 6 x 6" pad (retired).
• Embossing folder is Stampin' Up subtle (retired).

Blue Leaf Print on Blue

Some deep blues in a leaf print and an embossed shimmer card base.  It makes a beautiful sympathy card.

Aqua, Teal, and Silver - Sympathy

A simple layout of monochromatic strips.  The card's interest comes from the variety of scalloped edging, silver stripe (sparkly in real life), patterns, and textures.

Two green plaids - one a dark gingham, the other a pale diagonal - add interest to this monochromatic card.

Cream Garland on Light Blue

A flecked cream garland on a light blue background, with deeper blue flowers and a leaf-accented sentiment.  Interesting shapes and textures in quiet colors make a lovely sympathy card.

A handsome monochromatic card - black, white, and kraft, accented with a rusty red layer.  I like the black and white grid print combined with the grid embossed card base.

The dark plaid with its green weave makes a good background for my bright green word and arrow shapes, all on a muted green stripe.  Monochromatic and bold.
