Red Apples with Pink Pattern

A second card today for the Papertrey Ink 6th Anniversary celebration, with ten days of challenges on Nichole's Capture the Moment blog.  Today's challenge features five different sketches, and I chose sketch #1 - three squares.

With those bright red apples, it's also my card for the February "fruit" challenge, sponsored by Our Daily Bread Designs (thank you, ODBD!) to benefit Operation Write Home.

Card details:
  • Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) pure poppy (red), sweet blush (pink), ripe avocado (dark green), and simply chartreuse (medium green), with patterned paper from the pink patterns 6x6" collection.
  • Dies are PTI fruit fusion: apple and Memory Box tender leaves.
  • I dotted the apple and colored the stem with Copic marker E25.
  • The squares are cut with a 1-1/4" punch.
  • The sentiment "You are ... so sweet!" is computer-printed in red ink with Hobo Std font.
Created for Operation Write Home, "supporting our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them." (252)

I don't think I've ever done red and pink on the same card. This combo really works here. The sentiment is really great.
Thank you for joining th OWH challenge.
