Leaf Outlines on Aqua and Green Shapes

For this week's Make It Monday challenge (Using Outline Images) on the Papertrey Ink (PTI) blog, I started with my one and only outline stamp set, PTI in bloom.  None of my solid stamps seemed right for this, so I used the back side of two of the outline stamps to make the solid shapes.  Then I added my outline stamping, a sentiment with a scripty "you" word, and a knotted twine accent.

This was way outside my norm, especially the solid shapes not lining up with their outlines.  And I love the effect.  Thank you, Stephanie and PTI, for the challenge and the tutorial!

Card details:
  • Card stock is Neenah solar white and PTI pinefeather (dark green).
  • Twine is PTI new leaf (green) baker's twine.
  • The solid shapes are stamped with the backs of the large and small single leaves from PTI in bloom, using PTI vintage jadeite (green) and aqua mist ink cubes.
  • The leaf outlines are stamped with the leaf cluster and small single leaf from PTI in bloom, using PTI pinefeather ink cube
  • To connect the leaf stems, I drew some lines with Copic 0.5 olive (dark green) multiliner.
  • The sentiment "thinking of you" is from PTI botanical silhouettes, stamped with PTI pinefeather ink cube.
Created for Operation: Quiet Comfort.

You made it work, Cindy, and that’s what matters most. Your card looks awesome and the colors work well together. This challenge certainly gave me a whole new insight on outline stamps. I need some!
