Yellow Bouquet on Lacy White with Blue

I made this card for today's challenge on Nichole Heady's blog Capture the Moment. We were asked to use one of the featured PTI stamp sets from 2016, or to draw inspiration from any of the projects she highlighted. I don't have those sets, so I chose a card by Amy Sheffer to work from. It's this one, the 5th "tulip time" example in Nichole's post today.

The elements on my card all come from Amy's design. A lacy white die cut on a light blue background - a bouquet of yellow flowers - a twine bow - and a white sentiment on a narrow banner. It's very sunny and cheerful! Thank you, Amy and Nichole, for your inspiration!

Card details:

Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) blue shimmer, new leaf (green), and stamper's select white.
Twine is buttercream (yellow) stripe from The Twinery.
Dies are cover plate: twist and sketched shapes (long narrow banner). I cut the flowers and leaves with scissors.
The sentiment "sending sunshine" is from PTI what the doodle: sun, stamped with Versamark and white heat embossed. Flowers and leaves are from PTI life and larger than life, stamped with PTI harvest gold (yellow), summer sunrise (yellow-orange), orange zest, vintage jadeite (light green), new leaf (medium green), and Hawaiian shores (turquoise) ink cubes.

Operation: Quiet Comfort

Starting in early 2016, most of my cards are now made for Operation: Quiet Comfort.
As explained on their web site, "Operation Quiet Comfort exists solely for the purpose of honoring and comforting America’s military men and women who become sick and injured while serving in harm’s way. We also provide support to those who care for them. We collect, package and ship supplies for U.S. Military men and women receiving care at medical facilities abroad." These packages also include cards with messages of support and encouragement ... "thinking of you, patriotic, thank you, cheerful cards." I'm happy to have the opportunity to support our troops in this way.

About My Cards and My Blog

Unless noted otherwise, all my cards are A2 size - 4.25 x 5.5" when folded.

I was making cards long before I started stamping, so for my card images, I sometimes will do my own line drawing, then color it with markers. To use it multiple times, I scan it before coloring, then computer-print it. For more on my drawing process, see "How I Draw," and also "Anybody Can Draw."

I use Copic markers (I prefer "original" and also have some of the "sketch" type), Copic multiliner pens, and the Copic airbrush (airbrushing with my markers). See "About My Tools and Materials" for my Copic colors and other tools, materials, supplies and sources. Techniques and materials may also be noted in the blog post.

I will post a few times a month, whenever I have a new card to share. For cards before 2012, the date on the post is the approximate date of the card, not always the posting date. Reference posts like "About My Labels" are filed together as 1973, but are much newer.
