Pinwheels on Aqua and Light Blue

A pinwheel design with a shiny star circle for the center, in two bright summery color combinations. 

Card details:

• Card stock is Neenah solar white and Papertrey Ink (PTI) aqua mist and spring rain (light blue).
• Patterned papers are from PTI berry sorbet (pink), pure poppy (red), and summer sunrise (yellow-orange) pattern packs (tone-on-tone prints - retired).
  
• The 8-pointed pinwheel base is cut with a Silhouette Cameo.
• The 1-1/4" squares are cut with a paper trimmer.
• Circle punch is McGill 9/16".  
• The shiny center is from a very old pack of EK Success Sticko brand clear epoxy dome stickers. 
  
• The sentiment "sending smiles" is from Hero Arts sending smiles and the center star is from PTI stars & stripes, stamped with PTI tropical teal and blueberry skies (medium blue) ink.

Teal on Aqua with Brown and Cream

A monochromatic card (counting the brown as a neutral) using soft aquas and creams with crisp teal and brown borders.  Yesterday's card had mostly the same design, except for the label shapes.  Today's shapes just didn't stand out on yesterday's red and blue stripes.

• Card stock is Stampin' Up soft sky (light blue - retired) and Papertrey Ink (PTI) tropical teal, dark chocolate (brown), and vintage cream.
• Patterned paper is from Basic Grey fact (retired) 6 x 6" pad.

Muted Red, White, and Blue on Yellow Stars

Some simple stripes and ovals on a starry card base.  I like the muted blue and off-white with the bright red and yellow.

Petals - Turquoise with Brown

While I had the stamps out for yesterday's brightly colored card, I stamped a few more, using teal and brown inks on a light colored kraft card stock.  I also stamped the set's small solid image on the lower corners.  The coloring is done with colored pencils.  Bold and lively, and a nice change from my previous version.

• Card stock is Neenah desert storm (light kraft), and Papertrey Ink (PTI) cocoa bean (dark brown) and tropical teal. 
• Patterned paper is from PTI Hawaiian shores (turquoise) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired).
• The images and the sentiment "just a note" are from PTI splits: just a note (retiring), stamped with PTI cocoa bean and tropical teal inks, then colored with Venus Spectracolor 1404 dark brown and Eagle Prismacolor 920 light green (actually a turquoise color) pencils.

Petals - Bright Colors on Yellow

I enjoyed making this card with a sketch-style outline stamp on light yellow card stock and some very bright coloring.  It was easy to choose a red frame layer with a dotted yellow-orange card base, but it didn't quite look finished.  So I played with adding green or blue card stock, various colors of baker's twine, border die cuts...  Still not right.  Then finally I tried a narrow black frame layer.  That's all it needed.  Always interesting to see the effect of different combinations!

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) lemon tart (light yellow), pure poppy (red), and true black.
• Patterned paper is from PTI summer sunrise (yellow-orange) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired). 
• The images and the sentiment "just a note" are from PTI splits: just a note (retiring), stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink and colored with Copic markers G07, B24, R29, and Y38.

Green Circle Frame with Rusty Red

Textures and a leaf print with a simple sentiment in a circle frame. 

In real life, the red color looks more rusty.

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) spring moss (light green), ripe avocado (dark green), and vintage cream.
• Patterned paper is from PTI green tea leaves 8x8" pad (retiring).  I edged it with Copic YG95 marker.
• Embossing folders are Stampin' Up subtle and square lattice (retired).
• Die is PTI framed out #9 (retired).
• The sentiment "thinking of you" is from PTI stuck on you, stamped with PTI terra cotta tile (rusty red) ink.

Green Branch with Black and White Stripes

Aside from the black and white striped paper, this card is nothing like I planned.  The colors, shapes, and layout all evolved as I tried to make it work.  Much better than when it started!

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) melon berry (light orange), new leaf (green), terra cotta tile (rusty red), summer sunrise (yellow-orange), and true black.
• Patterned paper is from My Favorite Things black & white basics 6x6" pad.
• Dies are from PTI turning a new leaf, PTI cover plate: stars, and Elizabeth Craft hello.
• I used an EK Success 3/16" circle punch for the yellow-orange dots.

Dots with Scallops - Green, Orange, and Yellow

Layered colors add dimension to the card design.  I like the graceful curves of the sentiment font and the scalloped edges.

• Card stock is Paper Source poppy (light orange) and Papertrey Ink (PTI) ripe avocado (dark green) and harvest gold (yellow). 
• Patterned paper is from PTI polka dot parade 8 x 8" paper, grande scale.
• Die is from PTI edgers #3.
• The sentiment "thank you" is from PTI keep it simple: thank you, stamped with PTI simply chartreuse (medium green) and ripe avocado inks.

Red, White, and Blue Rosette Print on White

For the Fourth of July, a simple design with a lively rosette print in red, white, and blue.  I'm thankful for our country's many heroes and all that they do for us.

Note: the gray border is background, not part of the card.

Multicolor Star Hello

I enjoyed putting a few bright colors together for today's starry, swirly card. 

Card details:

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) amethyst allure (purple), raspberry fizz (pink), summer sunrise (yellow-orange), and stamper's select white.
• Embossing folder is Cuttlebug d'vine swirls (retired).  I used the debossed side of the card stock.
• Stencil is Crafter's Workshop mini random stars, sponged with PTI amethyst allure, raspberry fizz, and summer sunrise inks, applied with the round Ranger ink blending tool.
• Die is an unidentified "hello" die by Taylored Expressions.
