Aqua and Brown Chevrons with Yellow-Orange Gingham

I started with the aqua and orangey brown colors, which went well with the yellow-orange gingham background.  Then I wanted a fourth color for an accent and first tried a darker brown (PTI dark chocolate), but it looked too heavy.  The lighter PTI cocoa bean was a better brown for this card.  I like the color combination and the mix of straight lines, angles, and curvy script.

Card details:
  • Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) canyon clay (orangey brown), cocoa bean (brown), and aqua mist.
  • Patterned paper is from PTI summer sunrise (yellow-orange) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired).
  • Dies are from PTI huge thanks (word and shadow) and diagonals (chevrons), which cuts six chevron shapes and is easy to reposition and chain cut for a longer set.

Teal and Blue Double Frame with Stripes

Using the same notched frame and sentiment as my previous post, I added the set's outer frame on a pinked-edge white square.  To complete the design, I chose two similar color combinations for my stitched-detail horizontal band on a background stripe pattern - dark blue with turquoise stripes (above) and teal with medium blue stripes (below).

Card details:
  • Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) enchanted evening (dark blue - above), tropical teal (below), and stamper's select white.
  • Patterned papers are from PTI Hawaiian shores (turquoise - above) and blueberry sky (medium blue - below) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired).
  • Dies are from WPlus9 pinking squares and My Favorite Things vertical stitched strips (retired).
  • The sentiment "thank you so very much" and the frames are from PTI framed out #1 (retiring), stamped with PTI tropical teal and enchanted evening inks.

Red, White, and Blue with Kraft - Triple Window with Stars

Three windows cut in blue with stamped red frames.  I like the sentiment placed between the patterned stars.  The notched red frames look nice in the rounded window squares.

Card details:
  • Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) blueberry sky (medium blue) and stamper's select white.
  • Patterned paper is from PTI classic kraft pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired).
  • Die is PTI take three.
  • I edged my white panel with Copic marker B21, to hide the outer edge of white beneath the blue layer.
  • The sentiment "thank you so very much" and the frame are from PTI framed out #1 (retiring), and the stars are from PTI stars & stripes, stamped with PTI enchanted evening (dark blue) and pure poppy (red) ink.

Some light green dots with an offset deeper green layer.  Rich royal blue for the background and sentiment, with a striped blue twine accent.  Super simple, and I like it!

Card details:
  • Card stock is Paper Source royal blue and Papertrey Ink (PTI) new leaf (green).
  • Patterned paper is from PTI mint julep (light green) "+ white basics" patterned paper (retired).
  • Twine is denim stripe from The Twinery.

Diagonal Dot Strips with Brown

A trio of dotted paper strips with a flowing script sentiment and flourish.  I like all the straight lines, dots, and curves together.  The blue-green dots on the flourish give it a vine-and-berries look, and also help to pull the colors together.

Note: the gray border is background, not part of the card.  And I couldn't get the colors quite right on the screen - in real life, the top and bottom strips are more orange, and the middle strip is more blue, like the marker dots - but the overall effect is close.

Card details:
  • Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) stamper's select white.
  • Patterned papers are melon berry (light orange), ocean tides (muted teal), and terra cotta tile (rusty red) prints from PTI 2009 bitty dot basics (retired).
  • The sentiment "thinking of you" is from Stampabilities card phrases, and the flourish is from PTI holiday photo finishers (retired), stamped with PTI dark chocolate (brown) ink
  • The blue-green dots on the flourish are done with Copic marker BG75.

A very bright and happy card!  I'm pleased with my arrangement of the different elements in size and color.

Card details:
  • Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) new leaf (green) and stamper's select white.
  • Patterned paper is the narrow stripes print from PTI harvest gold (yellow) bitty big pattern pack.
  • The large flower and leaf cluster and the sentiment "sending you sunshine" are from PTI corner adorner: February, stamped with PTI new leaf, amethyst allure (purple), bright buttercup (yellow), and new leaf inks.
  • The dotted green circle in the large flower's center is from PTI land that I love, stamped with PTI new leaf ink.
  • The small scattered flowers are from PTI floral fusion (no longer available) stamped with PTI bright buttercup ink, and their center dots are added with a Copic 0.3 lavender multiliner.

Two Leaf Prints on Green

Two leaf prints of cream and light green on light orange and deep rusty red.  I cut the prints with a stitched-edge die and placed them on a green stitched-edge card base.  The cream label shape and mixed-font sentiment add some curves, with some open space for the eye to rest.

Sunflowers on Golden Brown Plaid

Three bright sunflowers with a panel of dotted blue.  I like the golden brown flower centers - deep but not dark - and the plaid card base echoing the checkered stamp pattern.

Red, White, and Blue Stars on Silver Shimmer

Lots of stars on this card - tiny embossed stars on the card base, tinier white stars on the patterned paper stripes, and a band of larger blue stars.  The shimmer card stock (silver, blue, and white) has a somewhat metallic look, especially with the embossed texture on the silver.

Brown Stars on Kraft with Light Orange

A very simple design.  I started with some stars stamped in brown on kraft, then chose the sentiment, also stamped in brown.  At first, my card base was a flecked cream color (Papertrey Ink's rustic cream), which I liked, but then I tried this light orange and liked it even more.

Card details:
  • Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) melon berry (light orange), dark chocolate (brown), and classic kraft.
  • Embossing folder is Stampin' Up subtle.
  • The sentiment "thanks for all you do" is from Fiskars so much thanks, and the stars are from Altenew tiny stars, stamped with PTI dark chocolate ink.

Two-Toned Green Stems with Burgundy and Yellow

I wanted to make a tall stamped panel with two-toned green stems.  It was easy to choose the narrow green border and light yellow damask card base.  But then I wrestled with the sentiment.  This "just a note" stamp was the perfect size and weight to place against the stems.  I tried it in green, dark gray, brown, dark blue, and more... they just didn't look right.  Then finally, I thought of burgundy.  Love it with some tiny berry clusters.  It's bright and rich enough to stand out, but with the berries, it seems to belong there.  I'm very happy with the final card!

Card details:
  • Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) new leaf (green) and stamper's select white.
  • Patterned paper is the damask print from PTI lemon tart (yellow) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired).
  • The stems are from PTI life (retired) and larger than life (retired), stamped with PTI green parakeet (lighter green) and new leaf (deeper green) inks.
  • The sentiment "just a note" is from Hero Arts many everyday messages, and the dot cluster is from PTI corner adorner: February, stamped with PTI scarlet jewel (burgundy) ink.
