Yellow-Orange Sunshine with Bird and Bright Blue

Two bright blues (top and bottom cards) and some bright yellow-orange enliven the subtle blues and greens of the patterned paper.  A narrow band of striped paper and a little bird added the accents that I needed to finish the design.

  • Patterned papers are a stripe from PTI summer sunrise pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired) and a blue/ green print from Basic Grey fact (retired) 6 x 6" pad.
  • Embossing folder is Stampin' Up subtle.
  • Dies are from PTI big basics: sunshine and heart-2-heart #9 (bird).
  • The bird's eye is a dot of Copic turquoise 0.3 multiliner.

Brown and White Print with Kraft Banner

This card started with a kraft banner, then a square of patterned paper and a dark brown rectangle.  An orangey brown background brightened the mix, and the embossed texture gave it some depth.

  • The aqua card stock is embossed with the Dreamweaver faux cross-stitch stencil screen, as explained in this post.

  • Die is from PTI photo finish strips, trimmed down to my card width.
  • The sentiment "thank you" is from PTI friendship jar flowers, and the border is from PTI holiday photo finishers (retired), stamped with PTI tropical teal and dark chocolate inks.

Blue Butterfly on Orange and Yellow

Lots of sunny orange and yellow, with some shimmery light turquoise for contrast.  I like the simple "sunshine" word and butterfly with the detailed border die.  There's a tiny dot pattern on the yellow - hard to see in the picture, but very nice in real life.

  • Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) sea shimmer (light turquoise) and orange zest.
  • Patterned paper is the bitty dot print from PTI lemon tart (light yellow) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired).

Red, White, and Blue - Four Cards with Leftovers

A
A friend's cards, made with leftover pieces, inspired me to use up some of mine!  (Thank you, Judy!)  Except for the white label shape (card C) and the "hello" words, all of my shapes, frames, and banners were leftovers that I saved from other projects, along with the two less-plain card bases.

Swirl Design - Turquoise, Purple, and White

A colorful swirl design, almost a spiral galaxy, with stars, circles, splotches, and flourishes.  I used the idea from this post on Jennifer McGuire's blog to place my stamps, with the turquoises in one wedge and the purples in another.  Thank you, Jennifer, for all the ideas and inspiration you share!

  • I used a Fiskars 1/4" star punch for my purple center star, which is accented with a dot of white gel pen.
  • The design is stamped with PTI Hawaiian shores, tropical teal, winter wisteria (lighter purple), and amethyst allure inks.
  • Stamp sets are all by PTI:  framed out #10 (flower - retired), let freedom ring (outlined star and dotted flourish - retired), corner adorner: April (curved splotch cluster), birthday balloons (star trio), and grunge me (curved line of circles  - retiring).
