Blue Flower and Butterfly on Yellow

I decided to use up some square scraps of blue, perfectly sized for the flower and butterfly, and some leftover leafy stem pieces.  Then I added more blue and green elements on a yellow background to make this cheerful design. 

 Card details:

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) blueberry sky (medium blue), simply chartreuse (green), lemon tart (light yellow - card base), and harvest gold (medium yellow - flower center).
• Patterned paper is from PTI spring rain (light blue) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired). 
• Dies are from PTI garden garland (using a small portion), Poppystamps blooming posie, Impression Obsession butterflies, and My Favorite Things hello. 
• The flower center is cut with my very old 1/4" hole punch.

Bird on Light Green

Soft and simple with a bird perched on a strip of patterned paper.  In real life, the stamped bird stands out well against the textured background. 

 Card details:

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) spring moss (light green), prairie grass (medium green), and stamper's select white.
• Patterned paper is from PTI melon berry (light orange) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired).
  
• Embossing folder is Stampin' Up subtle (retired).
• Dies are Elizabeth Craft thank you (retired) and PTI Ink to Paper (ITP) feathered friends mini 3.
• The bird is from PTI/ITP feathered friends mini 3, stamped with PTI fine linen (tan), spring moss, dark chocolate (dark brown), and prairie grass inks.

Brown Thanks with Tan and Aqua

The "thanks" die belongs to a friend from my monthly card making group. Thanks for the loan, Jane!  It cuts the letter shapes and the inner horizontal, so the top and bottom borders can be any height.  Here it makes a bold statement in dark brown, with some lighter colors and a bit of pattern. 

 Card details:

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) dark chocolate (brown) and aqua mist.
• Patterned paper is from the PTI fine linen (tan) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired). 
• I don't know the name of the die.

Bright Flowers with Black

I don't use much black on my cards, even for sentiments, because there always seems to be a color I'd rather include.  But here, the red and black mats bring out the brightness of my stamped folk-art style flowers.   

 Note: in real life, the "hello" is the same red as the flowers, not darkened like my image.

• The sentiment "hello" is from PTI textile impressions (retired), and the flowers and leaves are from PTI solid stitches & swirls, stamped with PTI new leaf (green), summer sunrise (yellow-orange), and pure poppy inks.

Zebra Print with Lime Green and Raspberry

A bold black-and-white zebra print in a lime green and raspberry setting.  I like the bright and cheerful mix of colors and patterns.

Card details:

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) raspberry fizz (pink).
• Patterned papers are a zebra print from The Paper Studio and a dotted print from PTI limeade ice (green) bitty big pattern pack.
• Die is Birch Press sugar script hello.

Green Shimmer Leaves on Cream

A softly monochromatic card with shimmer card stock and stitching detail. The printed paper echoes the die cut leaves in shape and color.  

Note: the gray border is background, not part of the card.

Red Plaid with Gray and Brown

I wouldn't have planned this color combination, but when I tried the red plaid print with the dark gray and then with the grayish brown, I liked all three together. 

Card details:

• Card stock is Hero Arts mocha layering paper (grayish brown - retired) and Papertrey Ink (PTI) smokey shadow (dark gray) and rustic white.
• Patterned paper is unknown, from the "free" table at our monthly card making group. 
• Die is the long wide banner from PTI sketched shapes.
  
• The sentiment "thank you" is from PTI keep it simple: thank you (retired), stamped with PTI smokey shadow ink.

Deer on Light Blue

A handsome card with deep rich colors and a bit of pattern.  The blocky sentiment is a good fit with the deer.

• Patterned paper is from PTI fine linen (tan) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired).
• The deer is from PTI masculine motifs (retired), and the sentiment "sincerest thanks" is from Ink to Paper/PTI just sentiments: appreciation, stamped with PTI dark chocolate (brown) and enchanted evening inks.

Purple and Turquoise Berries on Yellow

The berry stems were designed to be autumn bittersweet, but a purple and turquoise combination gives them a summery look against my light yellow background.

Red, White, and Blue with Plaid and Rickrack

Some red, white, and blue on the 4th of July.  I like the mix of curves and lines in the sentiment fonts, plaid print, and rickrack.  In real life, the whites are brighter, not off-white like my image.
