Lavender and Silver Tag on Blue

I tried for a better image of this card, but my die cut embellishments (shiny silver, not blotchy black!) wouldn't cooperate.  I like the textures and colors.  Though I don't often use tags on my cards, I enjoyed creating this one.

• Card stock is Bazzill silver metallic foil and Papertrey Ink (PTI) lavender moon and sapphire (blue) shimmer.  I used the back of the foil cardstock for my white star insert.

Pink Teapot with Yellow and Turquoise

A bright "congratulations" retirement card, for a family member. She'll soon have more time to sit back and enjoy a cup of tea.

Christmas Card 2023

 

For my Christmas card this year, I chose a Nativity angel, redrawn from my 2022 Advent calendar.  It's computer-printed with a white border on Neenah solar white card stock.  For a clearer view, click here for my Peace Angel post on my drawing blog.

Lattice Squares - Aqua with Teal and Blue

The textured background makes a good setting for the stamped lattice squares.  A handsome monochromatic card.

Leaves with Oval - Green on Aqua

A new die set with corner leaf clusters, and a very old die set with a label shape in an oval frame.  They look good together in this simple layout.

Turquoise Flowers with Yellow

I used the same stamping layout as this card, in a bright yellow and turquoise color combination.  I like the cheerful flowers, for encouragement cards to send to some of our church members.

• I used a turquoise Copic 0.3 multiliner to add the center dots in the tiny yellow flowers.

Brown Frame Quilt on Light Green

For today's quilt block card, I used the same patterned papers as for this card, but with a brown frame and light green background, instead of blues.

Four cards with the same leaf border, in autumn (yellow and copper) and summer (medium and deep green) color combinations.  I like them all.

My two narrow strips of pattern were clashing a bit, and the card base's third pattern helped bring them together.  I like the striped twine bow and the "thanks" tag that repeat the color scheme.

I enjoyed making an anniversary card with a quilt block in muted colors.  It's the same design as this card.

Blue Shimmer with Birds

Shimmer card stock with birds, hearts, and floral background texture for an anniversary card.  The "love" word die repeats the heart shape.

Orange Butterfly on Bright Diagonal

Starting with the turquoise frame leftover from this card, I added some bright yellow-green and muted orange colors for a tropical look.  I like the butterfly's curves against the diagonal stripes.

Burgundy Diagonal with Turquoise and Yellow

Strong colors in strong diagonal stripes, made with die cuts.  I cut the frame in burgundy, adhered it to a yellow base, and inlaid some turquoise pieces.  The white sentiment strip breaks up the pattern, giving some rest to the eye.

I felt like using some purple, so I made a set of cards with a Halloween-ish color mood.  The argyle and stripe patterns balance nicely with the bright sentiment strip.  I'll save the cards to mail in October.

Bright and summery with lots of color contrast and texture.  The rickrack grounds the die cut leaves and connects them to the leafy embossed background.

Hello with Red, Teal, and Yellow-Orange

I enjoyed designing this card with its diagonal layout.  The multicolored stamping was easy to do with the MISTI.  I like the strip of patterned paper wrapped around the red and white layers.

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) pure poppy (red), summer sunrise (yellow-orange), and stamper's select white. 
• Patterned paper is from PTI tropical teal pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired). 
• After stamping, the white card stock was embossed with the Dreamweaver faux cross-stitch stencil screen, as explained in this post.  I embossed on the back and used the reverse side.  In real life, it adds a very nice woven texture, which is hard to see in my image, except in the upper right. 
  
• Dies are from PTI tipped tops.
  
• The images and the sentiment "hello" are from PTI textile impressions (retired), plus the straight line from PTI think big favorites #18, stamped with PTI pure poppy, summer sunrise, and tropical teal inks.

For this card, I stamped a graceful stem of flowers onto a cream panel and layered it with some patterned paper in similar colors.

Green with Bird Print

Set on a soft green card base, this beautiful bird print didn't seem to need anything more to complete the card.

Navy Plaid with Burgundy and Silver

A handsome card with navy plaid, burgundy, and blue-gray, accented with silver.

Diagonal Red, White, and Blue on Light Orange

In real life, my card's colors look good together, but unfortunately, I couldn't adjust my image to show that.  I like the two strips of patterned paper on the dark blue panel.  Diagonal placement adds movement to the simple layout.

• Card stock is Paper Source papaya (light orange), and Papertrey Ink (PTI) enchanted evening (dark blue). 
• Patterned paper is from Bo Bunny firecracker 6 x 6" pad (retired).

Purple Thanks with Green

A notebook-style patterned paper started my card today.  I added some script texture and a scripty sentiment.  I like the soft green with the rich purple.  

Card details:

• Card stock is Paper Source eucalyptus (green).
• Patterned paper is PTI royal velvet (deep purple) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired) and PTI pencil me in A2 paper collection (lined linen-texture paper - retired).
  
• Embossing folder is The Paper Studio script (retired).
  
• The sentiment "thanks for all you do" is from Winnie & Walter in a word: thanks (retired), stamped with PTI amethyst allure (medium purple) and royal velvet (deep purple) inks.

Orange with Muted Teal

Two print rectangles and a sentiment strip.  I like the busy damask pattern in muted teal to balance the airier polka dots and the bright orange color.

Yellow Floral with Orange

With the stamps set up in my MISTI for yesterday's pink card, I switched the sentiment and stamped a few more using yellow and orange inks. The patterned papers make a good background for the floral panel. 

Card details:

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) stamper's select white. 
• Patterned paper is from PTI harvest gold (medium yellow) and orange zest pattern packs (tone-on-tone prints - retired). 
• The flowers are from PTI floral fusion (no longer available), the leaves are from PTI turning a new leaf (retired), and the sentiment "praying for you" is from PTI keep it simple: praying for you (retired), stamped with PTI bright buttercup (deep yellow), orange zest, and green parakeet inks. 
• I added the center dots in the small flowers with a white gel pen.

Pink Floral with Ribbon

I enjoyed arranging and stamping these pretty pink flowers. The pink ribbon knot makes a nice accent.

 Card details:

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) lovely lady (medium pink) and stamper's select white. 
• Ribbon is 3/8" satin.
  
• The flowers are from PTI floral fusion (no longer available), the leaves are from PTI turning a new leaf (retired), and the sentiment "happy birthday" is from PTI think big favorites #12 (retired), stamped with PTI lovely lady, raspberry fizz (deep pink), and green parakeet inks. 
• I added the center dots in the small flowers with a white gel pen.

Multi Stripes on Green

Starting with the bright multi stripe patterned paper, I chose a few colors of card stock to border it and the sentiment strip.

Card details:

• Card stock is My Favorite Things tropical teal, and Papertrey Ink (PTI) simply chartreuse (green), fine linen (tan), and canyon clay (orangey brown). 
• Patterned paper is by October Afternoon, from our monthly card making group's "free" table.
  
• The sentiment "thanks" is from PTI thanks all ways (retired).  I used PTI green parakeet ink, which matches my simply chartreuse card base when stamped onto the tan color.
