Green Leaf Panel with Blue Stripe

A leafy die cut panel does most of the work on this card.  The light blue stripe background adds depth without distracting.

Card details:

  • Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) new leaf (medium green), mint julep (light green), and enchanted evening (dark blue).
  • Patterned paper is PTI spring rain (light blue) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired).
  • Leaf panel and pinked layer dies are from PTI mix & mat: pinked edge
  • The sentiment "thinking of you" is from Hero Arts everyday sayings (retired), stamped with PTI blueberry sky (medium blue) ink.  On the light green card stock, it's a good match for the dark blue layer.

Bright Butterflies on Green

Today's card started with the multicolored patterned paper.  I thought of butterflies on a green vine or a trellis shape like the paper's squares, and then the square textures of the embossing folder came next.  I chose my card stock colors to match the paper.  I like the finished card, different from my usual.

Card details:

  • Card stock is Hero Arts punch (red) and cerulean (deep blue) layering paper, Paper Source poppy (orange), and Papertrey Ink (PTI) vintage jadeite (green), harvest gold (yellow), and blue shimmer (light blue).
  • Patterned paper is Little Yellow Bicycle baby safari: small squares 12 x 12", from the free table at my card making group.
  • Embossing folder is Stampin' Up square lattice (retired).
  • For the butterflies, I used the EK Success small butterfly punch and a die, Impression Obsession butterfly set (retired). The "hello" word is from Elizabeth Craft. The green "trellis" die is My Favorite Things retro squares (retired).

Leaf Print Sympathy - Green and Cream

A die cut leaf panel echoes the leaf print colors and shapes.  A peaceful effect for this sympathy card.

Card details:

  • Card stock is Paper Source eucalyptus (light green) and spruce (deep green).
  • Patterned paper is 12 x 12" cottage collection, from the "free" table at my card making group.
  • Dies are from Elizabeth Craft "with sympathy" (retired) and Papertrey Ink psalm reflections: October (leaf clusters).  I trimmed off one leaf from the right side to use at the top of the panel.

Yellow Flowers - Sunshine and Sympathy Cards

I stenciled the flowers, then cut my panel in half to make these two cards.  Adding black center dots gave the flowers more definition and tied them to the black ink of the sentiments.  I like the accidental "soft focus" effect that came from my not-very-careful stencil technique.

Card details:
  • Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) vintage jadeite (medium green) and stamper's select white.
  • Patterned paper is PTI lemon tart (light yellow) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired).
  • The white card stock is embossed with the Dreamweaver faux cross-stitch stencil screen, as explained in this post
  • Stencil set is PTI wandering petals.  I used an e.l.f total face brush to apply the PTI inks in vintage jadeite, new leaf (deep green), harvest gold (medium yellow), and summer sunrise (yellow-orange).
  • I added black center dots with a Micron pen.
  • The sentiment "sending sunshine" is from PTI keep it simple: encouragement (retired), and "with sympathy" is from PTI peaceful meadow, stamped with PTI true black ink
