Floral Dot Print with Aqua, Teal, and Cream

I had two small pieces of this floral dot print, so I separated them on a larger teal rectangle, with a sentiment banner placed in the gap.  The result looks interesting, and the scale works well on my aqua card base.  It's fun for me to see what I can do with my scraps.

I'll use this layout again, even without scraps.  Four cards can be made with a 6 x 6" print, cut into four 3 x 3" squares, then each square cut at 1".

Leaf and Text Prints - Green with Brown and Cream

Two versions of the same card.  I like them both.  Since the leaf print has some green color, along with the brown and cream, I added green stripes to the brown and cream text print.  It's a nice detail that helps unify the card.

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) dark chocolate (brown), spring moss (light green), and simply chartreuse (medium green).
• Patterned papers are a script text print from PTI dearest Jane (retired) and a petite-scale print from PTI green tea leaves 8x8" pad (retiring).

• The double stripe on the text print is from PTI plaid builder, and the sentiment "hello" is from Hero Arts many everyday messages, stamped with PTI spring moss and dark chocolate ink cubes.

Autumn Leaves on Sponged Rectangle

A lovely autumn collage of leaves and tall grass against a luminous red-orange-yellow sky, balanced by the weight of a stacked sentiment. 

Note:  My white card stock is bright white, not cream, but the other colors are true to life.  And the gray border is background, not part of the card.

Card details:

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) stamper's select white.
• My stencil material is Yupo paper, cut with a backing of Xyron repositionable adhesive, using the rounded rectangle from PTI two toned die collection. 
• The rectangle is stenciled with PTI Americana (rustic red), orange zest, and summer sunrise (yellow-orange) ink cubes, using e.l.f total face brushes to apply the ink. 
• The sentiment "just because" is from Stampabilities everyday expressions, stamped with PTI ripe avocado (green) ink cube. 
• The tall grass image is from PTI peaceful garden (retired), and the other leaf images are from PTI leave it be (retired), stamped with PTI ripe avocado and terra cotta tile (rusty red) ink cubes.

Stenciled Stars - Blue and Teal

A nice flow of stenciled color from blue to teal to turquoise.  The fluid script of the "thanks" word makes a nice contrast with the straight lines and angles of the panel rectangles, striped twine, and grid of stars.

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) enchanted evening (dark blue), tropical teal, and stamper's select white.
• Twine is PTI enchanted evening baker's twine.
• Dies are PTI cover plate: stars (to cut the stencil) and huge thanks.

• Stars are stenciled with PTI blueberry sky (medium blue), ocean tides (muted teal), and Hawaiian shores (turquoise) ink cubes, using an e.l.f total face brush to apply the ink.

Sunshine Flower - Bright Yellow with Navy

Bright, bright yellow, with a flowery print and some crisp navy for contrast.

Blue Dots and Stars with Circle Frame

Light orange, rusty red, and blue colors with a circle frame and stars.  It's my take on last Sunday's sketch (fall to layout #87) from the Palmtrees and Pogosticks blog.  Thanks, Natasha!  I enjoyed playing with the sketch!

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) melon berry (light orange), terra cotta tile (rusty red), and enchanted evening (blue).
• Patterned paper is from PTI comic strip A2 paper pack (retired).
• Dies are from PTI four square, super star borders, and noted: simply stitched A2 vertical.  
• The sentiment "with gratitude" is from PTI never enough: thanks, stamped with PTI fine linen (tan) and terra cotta tile ink cubes.  My first stamping with fine linen ink toned down the underlying melon berry color, and then restamping with terra cotta tile ink gave me a good match (very good in real life) for the terra cotta tile card stock frame.

Blue Flower Print Banner on Tan

A simple layout with a wide flower print banner and another banner for the sentiment.  Contrast and focus are added with dark edging on the long vertical sides of the print banner and a small dark rectangle under the sentiment banner.

Purple Flowers on Sponged Rectangle

This card was fun to create - a technique I will use again!  First I die cut a rectangle to make a mask for my white panel and sponged inside it with teal and green inks.  Then I finished the panel with flowers and sentiment stamped in dark green and purple, accented my flowers with dots of white, and mounted it on a striped purple card front.  I love how the colors glow.  

Card details:

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) stamper's select white.
• Patterned paper is from PTI plum pudding (medium purple) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired).
• The rectangle mask is cut from Yupo translucent 5 x 7" paper, easy to die cut and very durable.  I added color with PTI new leaf (green) and tropical teal ink cubes, using an e.l.f total face brush and a round Ranger ink blending tool to apply the ink. 
• The sentiment "just a note" is from PTI keep it simple: just a note, and the images are from PTI botanical silhouettes, stamped with PTI pinefeather (dark green) and royal velvet (dark purple) ink cubes. 
• The white dots in the flower centers are added with Dr. Ph. Martin's bleedproof white opaque watercolor.

Leaf Stencil - Green on Green

Soft green colors and textures with dark green accents.  I like the mix of different greens together.

Card details:

• Card stock is Paper Source leaf (light green - card base - retired) and sage (light green - stenciled panel), and Papertrey Ink (PTI) pinefeather (dark green) and rustic white.
• The card base is embossed with the Dreamweaver faux cross-stitch stencil screen, as explained in this post.  I used the back side of my embossed card stock.
• Stencil is mini jungle vines (TCW 658s) by The Crafter's Workshop, sponged with PTI new leaf (medium green) and pinefeather ink cubes, using an e.l.f total face brush to apply the ink.
• Dies are from PTI bountiful banners and My Favorite Things vertical stitched strips.

Red, White, and Blue Stripes on Red Dots

Just a few layered pieces ... offset rectangles, stripes on dots, and a wide banner.  Normally I don't mix white with cream, but I happened to have a cream banner that I tried for size, and I really liked how it looked with the red, white, and blue stripes.

• Patterned papers are a bitty dot print from PTI pure poppy (red) pattern pack (tone-on-tone prints - retired) and a stripe print from Pebbles Americana 6x6" paper pad.

Blue with Purple on Gray

Experimenting with a grid background stamp.  Using the MISTI, I stamped the blue grid, then shifted my card stock a bit more than 1/8" up and right to stamp the purple grid.  I love the simple plaid pattern it creates.  I added some curved and diagonal elements in the same colors, on a light gray background.  I like it a lot!

• Card stock is Paper Source beet (reddish purple) and Papertrey Ink (PTI) blueberry sky (blue), soft stone (light gray), and stamper's select white.
• Twine is lilac stripe from The Twinery.
• Dies are WPlus9 folk art florals (leaves - retired) and Birch Press sugar script hello.
• I used an EK Success 3/16" circle punch to make the dots.
• The pattern is PTI cover up: grid, stamped with PTI amethyst allure (purple) and blueberry sky ink cubes.

Yellow Stars with Brown and Rusty Red

Bright yellow stars with some deep brown and rusty red accents.  The stenciled airbrushing (with two shades of yellow) makes a softly variegated look, while the embossed star outlines are crisp and clear. 

Card details:

• Card stock is Papertrey Ink (PTI) dark chocolate (brown), terra cotta tile (rusty red), and stamper's select white.
• The white card stock is embossed with the PTI cover plate: stars die, and I used the same die to cut a stencil from Neenah solar white.  After embossing, I stenciled my stars in yellow, airbrushing with Copic markers Y19 andY26.
• In addition to the cover plate, the dies are PTI double-ended banners and My Favorite Things vertical stitched strips.
• The sentiment "thank you" is from PTI keep it simple: thank you, and the tiny stars are from PTI land that I love, stamped with PTI dark chocolate ink cube.

Grid Stamped Tags - Kraft and Burgundy

A monochromatic card in white, tan, and kraft with burgundy accents.  The striped paper helps to anchor the sentiment, while the angled tags and strings add movement. 

My design with the grid-stamped tags was inspired by the first card in this post.  Thank you, Michelle, for all of your inspiration!

Multicolor Circle Grids - Muted and Bright

To make these multicolor cards, I cut the circle grids from six each of muted colors (above) and bright colors (below).  After inlaying the circle cuts, I had twelve cards, each with a different background color and five assorted circle colors.  It was a fun way to make a batch of cards!  Most will be sent to our church shut-ins, with a few extras for Operation: Quiet Comfort.
